Do you have an actual shop that I can visit in person?

No, sadly we’re purely an online retailer, without a public access shopfront or showroom.

How do I contact you?

As an online retailer we do not field enquiries, accept orders, or process payments by phone.  To request a custom quote, simply fill in our quote form and for all other enquiries, e-mail sales@justjars.com.au - We endeavour to respond to all messages within 24 hours.

How long has your business been operational?

Just Jars was started in January 2012. Our ABN is 58789594604 and we are registered for GST.  We are in the process of closing down, but will continue to operate until all stock sells out, which is why our remaining products have been heavily discounted!

Do you hire out your jars?

No, all of our jars are available for purchase rather than for hire.


How can I tell how much it will cost to ship the jars I want to buy?

After adding the jars to your shopping cart, simply go to the cart page, where you can enter your postcode for an immediate shipping cost estimate.

Which postal carrier do you use?

We ship all orders via Australia Post, with tracking. 

Can I have my order shipped to a PO Box?


Do you offer Express Post?

Sadly not for any glassware items (jars/bottles).  Sending items via Express Post removes the possibility of categorising boxes as "manual handling only", and accordingly Express Post items receive rougher treatment in transit, resulting in a greatly increased risk of breakage.  For this reason we offer regular mail only.

What if I'm not home when my delivery arrives?

Unless you provide an authority to leave, deliveries require a signature upon receipt, so if no-one is available at the deilvery address, the Postie will typically return item(s) to the closest local Post Office for you to collect at your convenience.  He/she should leave a card in the mailbox advising of this.  Please note that most Australia Post outlets hold parcels for 2 weeks only, before returning any unclaimed item to sender.

Do you deliver Internationally?

At this time we do not offer any shipping options outside Australia.

How quickly will you dispatch my order?

There is one weekly dispatch from our warehouse in Sydney, which takes place on Friday mornings. The subsequent transit time for your delivery to reach you via Australia Post varies depending on your location.  Tracking numbers are supplied, and Just Jars takes no responsibility for any unforeseen postal delays in transit.

I ordered my jars over 2 weeks ago, and they still haven't arrived.  What should I do?

Contact us!  Delivery timeframes to most metro locations are only a few days at most, and no matter where you're located in Australia (even in the most remote locations), it shouldn't take more than a couple of weeks for your order to reach you.

How can I be sure that my jars won’t break in transit?

We package our jars extremely carefully and breakage is rare - We ship hundreds of thousands of jars each year, with only a handful of incidents. You may also like to check out the feedback we receive via the Just Jars Australia eBay store, as a lot of the comments relate specifically to our packaging and should give you some reassurance. (Also see below information in "Terms & Conditions" section, regarding our replacement policy).

I'm ordering a mix of different jar shapes/sizes - Will each product come in a separate box?

Not necessarily!  Orders are always packaged in the most economical way possibly, utilising the minimum number of boxes to keep shipping costs as low as possible.  The postage charges in the online store reflect this, and are calculated based on the smallest possible number of individual boxes required for the total order.



Can you offer any discounts for bulk orders?

Customers wishing to order in excess of 250 units are welcome to contact us by e-mail prior to purchase in case promotional / bulk savings can be applied.

Why is it cheaper to purchase a standard pack size of jars, rather than a custom quantity?

We offer our best unit pricing for the standard pack sizes of jars sold via our online store, which also attract a preferential postage rate.  Custom orders represent quantities of jars which necessitate custom packaging - Accordingly they are subject to a unit price surcharge, and do not benefit from the same postage discounts.

Do you have a minimum order size for custom quotes?

Yes, for custom orders we supply quotes only on twenty or more jars.

Do your prices include GST?


Do you have a wholesale pricing structure?

No.  We are purely an online retailer, but many of our customers are small business enterprises or resellers, ranging from event firms, restaurants and florists to orchards and candle-makers!

What methods of payment do you accept?

We accept PayPal and/or creditcard payments (Visa / Mastercard / Amex) via our online checkout.



The item I have received does not meet my expectations. Can I have a refund?

Refund of the purchase price excluding shipping costs is conditional on return of items in original condition within 7 days of receipt by the buyer. Please notify us of the return prior to posting. Outbound and inbound shipping costs remain the responsibility of the buyer.  Change of mind returns are accepted only at our discretion.

What if the worst happens, and I do receive broken jar(s)?

Should any jar(s) break in transit to the buyer, we send out replacements at our cost upon receipt of photograph(s) from the recipient clearly showing the breakage (so that we are able to make our own insurance claim for compensation from the postal carrier), as per our breakage policy. Replacement of jars is conditional on notification of breakage in transit being provided by the buyer within 3 days of receipt of the original delivery.


Jars are originally manufactured for the purpose of consumables storage. Suitability of product for intended use remains the responsibility of the buyer. We accept no responsibility for damages incurred due to misuse of the jars.



Do all the jars in the Just Jars online store come with lids?

Most of our jars/bottles are sold both with and without lids - When browsing the store, simply check the details in the product listing, which will clearly state whether you are looking at jars with or without lids included!

Are your jars sterilised?

No, jars are not pre-sterilised. They are brand new, and we recommend cleaning thoroughly prior to use with food products, to ensure removal of any unseen manufacturing residues.

How well do your jars seal?

The inside edge of our metal twist lids is coated with a rubbery compound specifically intended to improve the seal, especially for hot-fill (when the heat softens the compound, thus further optimising the seal between the jar and the lid).

Can your jars withstand high temperatures?

Yes, our jars are “food grade” and can withstand most temperature highs and lows within reason, including immersion in boiling water, dishwasher cycles, exposure to ovens.

Do your lids have a pop-up button closure?

No, with the exception of our Ball Mason branded jars (which have a two-part lid-and-band closure) our lids are standard metal twist lids, without a pop-up button closure (which is something that commercial operations in particular often seek for vacuum-fill). Both types of twist lids are essentially identical in many respects, the key difference being that caps with an integrated pop-up button closure can provide a visible indication to a customer that the jar has not been opened since sealing.

Can I put candles in your jars?

Although we do not formally guarantee our jars for purposes other than their intended use (food storage), as food-grade jars they are able to withstand high temperatures and we are aware that many of our buyers choose to use them as candle holders, seemingly without issue.  Please keep in mind however that like almost all glass jars retailed in Australia, our jars do have a slightly domed base (just take a look at the underside of any jar of jam in the supermarket and you should see an example!) so if using the jars as candle-holders, many buyers opt to stabilise the candles with sand, pebbles, melted wax, or any other suitable substance.

Can I make candles in your jars (i.e. pour melted wax directly into the jars)

Although we do not formally guarantee our jars for purposes other than their intended use (food storage), as food-grade jars they are able to withstand high temperatures and we are aware that many of our buyers choose to use them in the candle-making process, seemingly without any issue.

Do you supply tags, labels or twine with your jars?

For the most part any additional props which appear in our product photographs are shown purely to illustrate how the jars could be used, and are not for sale. We do however sell a limited range of jars with stickers as well as a small selection of chalkboard labels.

Why do you provide a volume (ml) capacity for your jars, not a weight (g) capacity?

We provide a volume measurement for our jars in millilitres (ml) only because the weight that they hold in grams depends entirely on what substance they're filled with - One particular jar might hold 10g of marshmallows, yet hold 100g of marbles!

For example, we collect personally identifiable information which you volunteer to us to respond to visitor questions and comments about us and our products and services, and to mail e-newsletters (“Personal Data”).
